Drama

The purpose of the Drama curriculum at Lanfranc is to develop emotional intelligence, help with the expression of feelings and increase self-confidence. We aim to broaden students’ engagement with, and enjoyment of performing arts while fostering team- work, the ability to ‘listen well’ and resilience.

Dramatists will explore a wide range of skills, styles and genres through a combination of theory, creativity, performance and reception. They will develop the ability to use independent research to support creative decision making, reflect on and organise the rehearsal process, and evaluate the outcome of their artistic intentions. The curriculum will give students a comprehensive understanding of the practical and technical roles within a performance.

They will have the opportunity to experience professional performances to support their learning and will learn how to analyse them critically. Through doing so they will understand the future opportunities that a career in performing arts could bring.
