Welcome to The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy Nursery
The ethos of our nursery is that “learning through play” should predominantly happen in the outdoor natural world. We strive to encourage, motivate, engage and inspire our children through positive outdoor experiences, where they can learn to respect and appreciate the wonder of the natural world. We commit to promoting resilience and positive wellbeing for all our children and staff. We understand wellbeing is a state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. We will drive the message forward, to ensure that mental health is “everyone’s business” across the whole school community. We will strive to create an environment that provides excellent mental health support, understanding and intervention.
At our nursery we believe that:
“Play is a crucial element in supporting children’s health, development and well-being and a means through which they experiment, develop their abilities, get creative and explore the world around them. Effective play enables children to: explore and create rules and understanding; develop resilience; be active; be creative and imaginative; practice new skills; learn about risks; stimulate their senses; build friendships and relationships. Play can contribute immensely to children’s enjoyment of childhood offering a place of sanctuary and also providing a therapeutic function by helping them to deal with emotional circumstances and issues that can occur in their lives”.
We are looking forward to welcoming your child and family to our Nursery in the near future.
