07:45 – 08:10 (Breakfast) serving hot bacon or sausage baguettes, toast, crumpets, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit as well as tea and hot chocolate
10:20 – 10:40 (Morning Break) serving a wide range of baguettes, small rolls, yoghurt and fresh fruits as well as drinks
12:20 – 13:00 (Lunch) serving a range of hot meals (please see menus for further information), jacket potatoes, salads, pasta, sandwiches, wraps, rolls, baguettes and desserts as well as drinks.
We offer a wide range of freshly prepared food every day using high quality ingredients including free range eggs and wholemeal pasta. Our current suppliers include; Stanley Fruiterier, a local greengrocer who has been serving the community for over 30 years. Daniel Parkers, a family butcher who is a local business operating for 75 years.
Freshly baked bread is made daily and is freely available at lunchtime to all students along with drinking water.
We have a weekly menu rotated on a three week basis. However there are also ‘specials’ during the week which change according to seasonality as well as surveying the students to gauge what they would like. These specials have included; 100% beef/ chicken/ salad burger, patties, pizzas and chicken wings.
Purchases at the canteen are made using a biometric system, whereby fingerprint recognition is used to charge the students account. Cash is no longer accepted in the school canteen. Biometric accounts can be credited by;
The accounts of students who are entitled to FSM (Free School Meals) are automatically credited with £2.35 daily which may be used at break or lunch time. We have ensured that this amount will cover the cost of a hot meal for FSM students should they choose to purchase one. As part of our ongoing quest to ensure that we offer high quality, affordable meals for our students we are have become part of the Food For Life Partnership. The aim of this programme is to make healthy food accessible and available to everyone as well as education regarding where food comes from and sustainability.
