Geography

KS3

All pupils study geography twice a week in years 7 and 8. The aim is for pupils to gain an understanding of how geographical processes (both physical and human) have shaped the world today.

Y7
Students in Year 7 follow a programme of study which includes:

  • Introduction to geography
  • India
  • Natural Hazards
  • Brazil
  • Rivers

Y8
Students in Year 8 follow a programme of study which includes:

  • Coasts
  • Brazil
  • Cold climates
  • Weather
  • Sustainability

KS4

Geography is an option subject at KS4 which may be chosen from year 9. Students have 3 lessons a week. The final GCSE grade is made up of two written exams and a controlled assessment (25%).
