KS3

All students study Drama once a week in Years 7 and 8.

Y7

Students in Year 7 follow a programme of study which includes:

  • An introduction to drama
  • Voice and speech
  • Creating characters and script

Y8

Students in Year 8 follow a programme of study which includes:

  • Storytelling
  • Improvisation
  • Interpreting a script

KS4

Performing Arts is an option subject at KS4 which students may choose to study at GCSE level commencing in Y9. This course is designed to encourage students in Years 9, 10 and 11 to enjoy and appreciate the performing arts focussing on the elements of drama, dance, singing and music.  It builds upon skills and knowledge that students have learned in KS3 Drama lessons, in any instrumental music or vocal lessons as well as pupils’ experience outside the classroom.
